The nanobodies were additionally expressed as intrabodies in both cultured oligodendrocytes and COS-7 cells. The nanobodies are freely available tools for structural biology as well as functional studies and molecular imaging.

Fluorescently labelled nanobodies were validated for staining of both teased nerve fibres and whole brain sections, as well as STED microscopy of nodes of Ranvier.

We developed and characterised a set of high-affinity nanobody binders against the myelin enzyme CNPase. A thorough biophysical characterisation was accompanied by high-resolution X-ray crystallography to identify the precise epitopes for each nanobody.
