My Grandmother used to read to my sister and I for hours when we were small. When we started reading on our own, she would take us to the library every couple of weeks to get new books. We both are avid readers because she loved to read and passed that love on to us. #bookishqotd 📖🦋 #booksky 💙📚

I read 4 books by Black authors for Black History Month. Only 1 was an author I've read before. (Kennedy Ryan, I adore her books!)
I also read one Ali Hazelwood, and I'm going to finish "The Vegetarian" by Han Kang today.

The last book i borrowed (from the library! Thank you Libby app!) Was Black Food by Bryant Terry. It's a cookbook, but so much more than a cookbook. Essays, stories, songs, art, it's absolutely amazing. I made a cocktail from one of the recipes today.

Probably the one I'm listening to now...The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams.

Andrew Wincott is a brilliant narrator. He makes listening super fun. It's a great story so far.

I don't care. Usually the only "seasonal" read i have is Pratchett's The Hogfather. But it doesnt really occur to me to time my reads to fit the seasons.

My top 2 are:

"The Priory of the Orange Tree" by Samantha Shannon
"A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini.

I am reevaluating the other 2 of my top 4, as the author has allegations of abuse against him, and I'm unsure of how I'm feeling about the books now.

It depends. I will usually wait a while on a "trending" book unless it's an author inalready know. But, I have found some amazing books through jumping on a trend. (Hades x Persephone saga anyone?)

Yes! A good friend of mine and I actually hosted a book club for local people on Yelp. We'd pick a book, and then go to a different restaurant or Cafe for food and/or drinks to discuss the books! It was super fun, and something I'd love to start up again.

Hmmmm.

I'm not sure what my standard is as I do a lot of reading on my kindle, so I don't see page count. As long as the book is engaging, I don't really care about page count. (Also Priory of the Orange Tree is one of my 3 favorite books of all time)

I tend to read early in the day. Audiobooks at the gym super early on my workout days (like...4am)
Physical books and ereaders any time but usually in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, and my dark academia playlist.
