Had a lot of fun at Joey's Bar near Nuneaton. A evening of folk, blues, ragime guitar, classic rock covers and a karaoke set. Eclectic!!

USA - if you really want to be 'great again', ask yourself, whatever happened to the Bernsteins and Woodwards who held your leaders to account? Can the current crop of handpicked hacks ask anything more challenging than 'Why don't you wear a suit?' Democracy is being defeated by docility.

I watched the White House news conference called by Karoline Goebbels Leavitt and despaired at the pathetic response of the journalists. Only one had the temerity to say 'I have a question' only to be contemptuously ignored by the imperial Ms Leavitt.

Very impressed with local pharmacy today when they phoned out of the blue to check how I was getting on with newly prescribed meds and also offered great health advice. Definitely above & beyond :)

It was one of those shoots where acrtors wait hours for a 5" shot. An assistant on the Downton set felt bad and asked Dame Maggie Smith if he could get her anything.

"Yes," she replied. "A death scene."

The phrase 'giant of the industry' is oft bandied about, but rarely as richly deserved. RIP ~AA

Getting lots of reels on FB at the moment. Not the sort you can dance to, but images of plane crashes, tornadoes, tsumanis or trucks hitting bollards at 300 mph, obviously AI generated and likely clickbait designed to attach nasties. Or am I just paranoid? Think I'll steer clear of them.

It's still my plan to complete and publish Mum's (and our) Alzheimer's story. A lot of it is more bitter than sweet but it also had its happier moments.

Can now change my TV channels by voice. Still have to press a button on the remote while talking. OK I don't have to yell Alexa, Bixby, or Siri but still b*gg*red if the remote gets lost.

What's more important to the environment - 26 trees or a tarmac cycle lane? My vote goes to the trees. If you disagree with these proposals by Coventry City Council, have your say: tinyurl.com/46acd7j3
