Stagecoach are introducing extra buses and extending services from today to take advantage of Oxford's temporary congestion charge. They claim faster journey times on routes from Barton, Blackbird Leys, and Kidlington, and are extending two routes to the Park & Ride at Oxford Parkway.

I'm thinking of going on a cycling holiday to Tuscany next Easter. Any top tips? Probably go by train from the UK.

Lovely cycle to Shaftesbury on Saturday for a swim in their fantastic heated Lido.
Lunch in the Black Cactus helped to give me the energy to cycle home.

Cycle advice needed. I've signed up for the London To Brighton ride for Barnados. Should I use my gravel bike (maybe with road tires) or my hybrid? My gravel bike will be faster, but my hybrid is more comfortable. I expect 5-6 hours of cycling!

❓How do you get Steve Reed the Environment Secretary to listen to your concerns about the private water industry?

❗⚽Meet him on his home turf.⚽❗

Lois is inviting Steve Reed to the football - fat cat water bosses can do it, so why shouldn't she?

@sarahgogreen.com I'm staying near Pontypridd South Wales for a week cycling. Any suggestions on where to g9? Cycled to Tredegar House Newport today. Thinking of cycling towards Brecon tomorrow. Had my first warm Welsh cake yesterday. Very nice!

It's great that Tredegar House @nationaltrust.org.uk has got an EV charger. Please can you upgrade the cycle parking - it is on main @sustranscymru.bsky.social cycle route 4 after all? Lovely 40km cycle ride from Ynysybwl this morning through the valleys.

Cycling in South Wales at the moment. Recommend @sustranscymru.bsky.social routes 4, and 8. But not 881. Too many barriers, signage not clear and a bridge down near Ferndale. Still navigable with a detour.

Private shareholders made dividends of £3.6 billion from owning our trains in the last decade. Yet the government is leaving our trains fully privately owned. Sign We Own It's petition to demand they take our trains into public ownership:

The government is taking railway operators into public ownership, but the trains themselves will remain in private hands. The government must take our trains into public ownership.

What a difference on the Welsh train. Lots of space for bikes, and a strap to hold it in place!

My Cardiff train terminated at Bristol. But an hour later and I'm on a crowded train to Cardiff. Cycle carrying provision is pitiful. Wishing I could have thought of more stuff to leave behind!!

Started my 3 week triathlon training adventure in Pontypridd. The first challenge is getting there on the train. No service between Newport and Cardiff due to bridge bash!! 1/3

Had to run some errands today. One of which required the car and the others were on the way back. Hated it - road works, finding somewhere to park (none near where I had to go), speed bumps, traffic etc.. AND it cost me £3 in parking!!!
I'd rather use my bike any day.

1. Yesterday I wrote a thread about the dire warnings from food professionals on the state of supply chains. Comfortable folk might find it impossible to imagine an end to the current abundance. But we'd better start imagining it fast.

Recently, whenever I do some intense exercise (e.g. 10k Bournemouth Bay run) my training app congratulates me on a new heart rate threshold. But I think I'm getting less fit - my heart is just having to beat faster to keep running/cycling!
