Definitely no real connection with the audience.

I’m generalising, but I think there are really three types of ‘big’ live act:

Doing it for the fans.
Doing it for money.
Doing it for themselves / the art.

This was number 3. And I’m ok with that.

I mean, I said to the wife on the tube afterwards; Give that production director the live music equivalent of an Oscar, because it was immense.

‘No Surprises’ definitely a highlight.

Sometimes I also feel Thom Yorke is playing to himself, and that leaves an audience just looking in, not part of it

Nah, I wouldn’t leave early. It’s Radiohead. Honestly a total spectacle. It just didn’t capture me this time… and that’s alright, because I know 99% of people there were absolutely buzzing.

I think I am probably slightly in that soft-fan camp I guess. But I can appreciate raw talent.
