I think it has more with the lack of wood grain paneling that the 1970’s station wagons had, bring back wood grain and save the world

The ASCVD Risk Estimator can show you what a drop in cholesterol would result in, if you are good in the blood pressure/diabetes area it generally doesn't make a big difference unless your into the high LDL cholesterol (>200), I believe genetics plays a big part, might go down as you age too

Cholesterol has many contributors that any one thing doesn't seem to make a big difference, long term life choices/genetics kind of establish a minimum baseline, by itself might be not a problem but with blood pressure/diabetes can be an issue, exercise/eat well/weight/stress can make things better

I completed the game and I think either way is fine, more bananas will make it easier in the harder levels as you unlock additional skills, I don’t believe a lack of bananas will prevent you from progressing in the game but could impact the ease of game play
