I much rather would see the scalpel solution and not the chainsaw solution current LLMs seem to use often when modifying existing code.
Well defined Readme.md, contributors.md, and only when those are not enough agents.md can go a long way guiding the agent to generate code better matching your project’s expectations and limits rework of generated code by developers.
