Extraordinary piece in The Guardian today implying that being a private landlord is wrong. I don’t have a private pension so like many others my property portfolio is my pension. I keep my properties in good nick and provide homes for people who can’t afford or don’t want to buy. Is that bad?

Stephen Bleach’s excellent comment piece in The Sunday Times decrying the barmy world we live in where we are told that to fund the NHS economics tells us we have to buy stuff we don’t need. Growth is not a useful tool for economic policy we need an alternative.

Saw this brilliant opening night of Quadrophenia where the set was a key performer alongside the excellent dancing. You don’t have to be a Who fan to enjoy this fabulous show. Well done to all at TRP for bringing this to Plymouth @trplymouth.bsky.social

Our tax system has got totally out of hand and is open to abuse by the wealthiest providing a charter for tax accountants and lawyers to get rich. Our tax code runs to over 22,000 pages compared to 350 in Hong Kong. The case for simplification is long overdue

The only people in the room who disrespected the Oval Office were Trump and Vance. The whole nation should be hanging their heads in shame at the way their leaders tried to humiliate another head of state. Respect to Zelensky for keeping his head whilst those around him lost theirs

Tonight’s the night for the great planetary alignment. This is the view of Jupiter from Victoria Park, London. Not spectacular but pretty special
