He wrote a heartbreaking plea for parents to get their kids vaccinated. It’s linked below.
We should all be able to agree on some things. This is one of them.

Measles is HIGHLY contagious, and can lead (in rare cases) to fatal complications. Roald Dahl - the author of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “James and the Giant Peach,” and other classics - lost his daughter to complications due to a measles infection.

CAN YOU IMAGINE A LOUGHEED ERA HEALTH MINISTER REFUSING TO RECOMMEND VACCINATION? A KLEIN ERA HEALTH MINISTER?
This shouldn’t be a controversial nor partisan issue. Political leaders need to show leadership.

Our health experts and political leaders should be speaking in ONE VOICE and encouraging parents to get their kids vaccinated. But that doesn't appear to be happening.
Consider this passage from “Health experts recommend measles vaccine as Alberta preaches ‘parental choice’”:

But in today's Alberta, in particular under this government, ALL of those issues have become politically charged, to a greater or lesser degree, including - horrifyingly - vaccine efficacy.

- oil and gas revenues should mean more than just low taxes for Albertans; they should help pay for some of the best roads, infrastructure, health care, and education (K-12 and post secondary) in the country

- school curriculum should be developed by curriculum experts and the curriculum development process should not have political fingerprints on it 3x

There was a time in Alberta when pretty much everyone could agree on issues like the following:
- public health is important
- hospitals should be well-staffed and every Albertan should have good access to health care 1/x

Hey all, I just thought that you should know that I'll be running for ATA President in the upcoming PEC election. That leaves an open VP seat if anyone is interested! Expect to hear more once the campaign period starts on January 15th. Cheers!
