Soon! We've spent the past few months testing the base game and all expansions on BGA. Thanks for the kind words!

Tiny Towns is in Alpha on BGA 🎉

Seeing a digital version of this game has been a dream of mine for years, and the developers and the team at @alderaceg.bsky.social put in so much work to test all 116 buildings.

All expansions will be in the full release—couldn't be more excited!

It's honestly a very easy hobby, just following directions. I picked it up last summer. Here's the 2nd piece I ever did. You can start with any color and really begin anywhere you want, and fixing mistakes is simple. I love it.

There's one more for the Hobbit but this is the set so far. I got the patterns here: lavky.com/art-and-coll...

I finished the 4th piece in the Lord of the Rings cross stitch book mark set I've been working on! I love how much this one captures.

I recently had a chance to play @drawnonward.bsky.social's amazing game Walkable City again. It's a cooperative game about providing people with alternatives to cars with asymmetric player roles. I was the light rail player and Taylor was the bike path player. Love watching our network grow.

Though I'm super happy with how it looks, this prototype was relatively quick and easy to make. Designing the board and assembling it took 3 hours and cost maybe $14, and that includes the 80 nickels I sandwiched between foam core and chipboard so pegs wouldn't lift the board constantly.

Who likes Cribbage and is going to Unpub?

Indiana and I have designed a little combo-building game we're calling Voyage, and we're so excited to playtest it with folks in Baltimore!

@sirjoshwood.bsky.social and I are working on a spatial puzzle game that features polyominoes with no consistent unit scale or placement rules. It's gonna be WONKY.

Took a trip to my public library wearing @danielsolis.bsky.social's incredible t-shirt!

I just submitted Voyage for my @unpub.bsky.social table—what has me really excited about this game is that it's my first co-design with Indiana! We adore cribbage and wanted to make a version with no limits and unreasonable combos. Indiana holds the record for highest scoring hand at 56 points!

My first physical playtest of Antiques in over a year and I pulled off my most satisfying stack yet—the blue upside-down-U piece resting on the orange piece and a stack of two pieces in the window.

Cross stitch! It's become my favorite "turn my brain off" hobby and gives me something to do with my hands while I watch shows, which is the only way I watch anything. Here's a bookmark I made for Indi.

This is actually a chill and cozy puzzle game, I promise! The game is Antiques, in which players run competing antique shops. I'm laying out the sheets I'll eventually print on sticker paper and put on chipboard to cut up for a prototype.

Oh yeah I'm spatial puzzle puzzling.

Done in an hour and 45 minutes! It was not nearly as difficult as I thought. I threw out about 1/3rd of the prototypes and put the rest in labelled bags or boxes. Almost all of the prototypes are in this image.

I'm spending the afternoon going through old prototypes and iterations to archive those worth maybe returning to and chucking the rest. Pictured here: 51 prototypes.

How long do you hang on to old prototypes? Do you have a system for preserving them so you can return to them later? 🎲✂️

I overhauled a design I've been trying to crack for ages called "Letterlands." The whole game is just placing word-polyominoes determined by the dice and overlapping them when you can, and it just works.

My hope is to come up with several themes to fit into one box, maybe 10 to 15.

Ha—love it. I just got into cross-stitch last year and it's become one of my favorite ways to spend a cozy evening. Usually with Deep Space 9 on. I finished this one about a month ago.

I bumped up the completion percentages of a few games since my last update in October. Six games at 100% with two games that should hit the mark soon.
