I have just read the seven parts of your summary in this thread. It is very clear, concise and interesting. I particularly like the comparison of Marx and Engels on the topic, thanks.

I'd be tempted to submit on AI for socialism, but I'm retired so hope someone does as I don't have resources etc. If your library has my Historical Dictionary of Socialism, 4th ed (2024), it has entry on AI (pp. 52-3):https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/historical-dictionary-of-socialism-9781538159187/

Perhaps they oppose it because it would mean intervention on their ability to do what they want to do, even if accepting intervention would in some cases be good for their profits.

The reason I ask is that by discussing revivals rather than revival one could explore and focus on subtle change and nuance among the contributions, of which further discussion could draw out possible significance and importance

Wouldn't it need to be "Marx revivals"?

Good article thanks. Perhaps the PMC explanation is best-described as a neo-Marxist one?

Wouldn't Marx and Engels, if they had still been around, have said it all began with oppression by the Tsars and the early development of capitalism, and that Lenin drew on and reinterpreted their work as a means to overthrow the regime with enough support to put communism in place?

Take care not to mix them together.

Perhaps my suggestion could be added to the end of yours?

Or perhaps it means 'likely to collapse in an unpredictable, dangerous manner'.

Looking forward to this Matt.
