Noodling UI designs for a potential personal project, a YouTube Music "Playlist Commander". Wouldn't play music, would be a power tool for managing playlists.

Arweave still looking good for "eternal" publishing / public archive, because of one-time payment and design for data permanence. permaweb-journal.arweave.net/reference/st... (Design ≠ guarantee, of course.)

And there's a Git forge, protocol.land , that uses Arweave for storage!

A comparison table of five decentralized storage platforms and their key characteristics. A basic calculator application named "SimpleCalc by PK" with a minimalist user interface. The calculator features a white rectangular display area with a blue border showing "0.7734" in black text aligned to the right. Below the display is a 5×4 grid of buttons. The top row contains a red "C" (Clear) button, gray parentheses buttons "(" and ")", and an orange division (÷) button. Not an _amazing_, shot, but it's still pretty cool you can get a snapshot like this with a smartphone (Pixel 7 Pro).

This was two days ago. Alaska Airlines AS714, a Boeing 737 Max 9, flying over San Diego from SEA to SJD at 37,000 ft, going 522 knots. Oh, and the Moon at approx 1,190,000,000 ft. :)

Cool Fata Morgana (superior mirage) effect today, looking from Point Loma Tidepools to Pilón de Azúcar & Coronado Centro islands (17mi, 27.4km).

Regular, 2x mirage, 3x mirage.

Also a wide view of all 4 Coronado Islands; the 2 small islands left of the littoral combat ship are Azúcar y Centro.

We had a nice clear sky in San Diego and got a good view of the SpaceX Falcon 9 that took off from Vandenberg. I wasn't really set up for photography, but here's a smartphone pic to prove it happened. 🙂

First stage engine was bright & lit up the contrail nicely. First stage reentry was very bright.

A western fence lizard that lives in our yard.

It happens to be right under a wooden gate, and I think it's not missing the tip of its tail, it's just hidden behind the gate.
A small western fence lizard across the middle of the frame. It's standing on top of a number of small, smooth pebbles, mostly white, but some other colors, too. The top of the frame is a horizontal wood-grain texture, which is the bottom of a wooden gate. There is sort of a golden glow of light behind the lizard, which is the late afternoon sun shining on the rocks and the side of the lizard away from us.

Mission Beach, San Diego California yesterday.

Being that time of year and weather, the beach was littered with many by-the-wind sailors (Velella velella). Almost all of them were transparent, with only a couple blue ones (not shown in these photos).
