Hey, Australian folks — do you guys know that Australia doesn’t collect enough plasma and so is reliant on plasma collected in the U.S.?

It’s true. The U.S. supplies more than half of the plasma Australia needs

But the picture looks different if we look at the numbers relative to population. Texas falls to sixth place, Florida to 29th, and Utah takes the top spot, followed by Iowa.

In absolute numbers, Texas has the most plasma collection centers with 178, or one more than all of Europe. Florida’s 94 centers put it in second place. Here’s the top five:

There are 177 commercial plasma centers in Europe (including Ukraine)
