the sdk doesn’t really matter here if the client is directly making requests. the secrets at attached at the gateway level.

at least for LLM apis, the traffic will be L7. I am thinking of API GW functionalities (at ingress) for traffic going to external services/apis - hence i am calling it an “egress gw”.
