Turning back the clock on science investments more than 20 years.... sigh. The last time we were considering funding levels like this for NSF, I was a staffer on the House Science committee writing up the NSF Authorization bill. That was 1999.
The Trump Administration’s FY26 budget proposes devastating NSF cuts, including a 65% cut to CISE and key programs like CAREER and GRFP. U.S. research and innovation are at risk.
