Forty years ago, after a resolute, successful campaign get their land, traditional owners at Uluru showed incredible generosity by leasing the land to all Australians enabling the creation of Uluru/Kata Tjuṯa National Park. Our shows out there were amongst the most meaningful ever.

I’m pleased to share that I’ve been invited to join the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) as an Honorary Fellow for 2025.

ATSE stands for the power of applied knowledge and innovation to make real-world change, something we need more than ever.

The Kimberley region is special: extraordinary landscapes, rich culture, brilliant coastline. WA Labor gov mustn’t allow horrendous fracking, or massive gas developments to disfigure and ruin this part of Oz.

Today at Jabiluka with Traditional Owner Yvonne Margarula & family, on their first “legal” return to country in 40+ years. Soon this land will join Kakadu NP after one of the most important land rights & conservation struggles in modern Australia. A really important day.

I’m looking forward to speaking at the Australian Conservation Foundation’s 60th in Sydney. Our community & membership based environment groups have fought to protect nature and it’s wonders, adding much to the quality of life in Australia. More to do, but what a great legacy to build on.

Great to see NSW finally backing local artists with the formal introduction of Michael’s Rule, a new initiative that encourages international tours to include an Australian support act on their lineup.

The rest of the country better follow suit. Our industry needs it!

Change the government, change the nation', always.
@PeterDutton_MP
shouldn't be in charge of Australia: Character; plays race card, defaults to attack, accepts One Nation votes. Competence; terrible record as minister, abysmal campaign. Vision; absent. Wilfully anti climate & environment.

I’ve spent my life fighting nuclear. Here’s what Dutton isn’t telling you about his reactors.
Here’s what Dutton isn’t telling you about nuclear reactors
This deceptive proposal has all the Trumpian hallmarks: a quasi policy announcement intended to serve sectional interests.

Yesterday Mehdi Yarrahi the Iranian protest singer, got 74 lashes for writing about the strict dress code women have to follow in that country. So today we’ll dedicate this song to him and everyone speaking the truth in anti-democratic states, especially theocracies: petergarrett.lnk.to/GOMS

Big thanks to all who came out in Perth last night. Great - albeit ironic, to play at the old power station. With WA oceans boiling, Woodside planet wreckers T-shirt was put to good use!

‘God On My Side’ - out now: petergarrett.lnk.to/GOMS

This song implies if there is one God, then she/he is everyone’s, not an exclusive coverall which justifies inflicting violence. Love in action, standing up to defend all human rights, is the only antidote to hate & persecution.

Spot on re why Australian music is missing from local charts, and in deep trouble. www.smh.com.au/culture/musi...
Spotify is silencing Australian music, but it’s not the only culprit
Australian music is dwindling in popularity and policymakers are covering their ears.
