The runners should be careful not to trip on the beat up, bumpy, and in some places haphazardly patched road deck. Really, the condition of the bridge - from a ride and appearance perspective - is unbecoming. The west tower is covered in rust.

Did you know?
The old (original) Jamestown Bridge, the longest in New England at the time it was built, was built in 18 months - 18 months! - by builders from Jamestown between 1939 and 1940.
And under budget too.

Can you believe it? I had my first bay swim this summer late this afternoon.
It’s been busy.
Had to make sure I missed this guy.
And good to know I can still use the swim ladder!

“There lies the boat, there blows the morning breeze—it is a point of honor, now, to go. I am like an alcoholic who cannot put his bottle out of his life. With me, I cannot not sail".

No better place to get some distance and think about what’s ahead. And no better person to do it with.

Huge win for us in RI federal court today!
Court issues preliminary injunction against Trump Admin in case we co-lead challenging Trump’s effort to condition federal highway funds on state “cooperation” with ICE civil enforcement (think state troopers doing ICE work).
State’s rights indeed!

Robin Hood strikes again!
Seriously - this $30 million - added to a fund now in excess of $300 million - will go for the purpose we intend: saving lives, through enhanced opioid use prevention and treatment.
Thanks AG Office Team!

We’re not retreating from our game changing work with the GA and partners to eliminate lead poisoning of children. And neither should anyone else. Because what we’re doing is working.

Jamestown’s Memorial Day Parade and Remembrances are always a strong mix of fun and poignancy. Great to see so many veterans (including my Dad) and pay respects to the fallen.

Went searching this morning for the gravesite in Boston of a Rhode Island boy like me but who sadly never made it home to Jamestown/North Kingstown.
Gilbert Stuart!
Visited his birthplace every year as a student at THE Jamestown Elementary School
