In plants, how does stuff happen in the correct place at the right time?
Am crashing on Kid1's floor during #PPRM2025. She's a doctoral student in Edinburgh.

Really enjoyed my visit to ZMPB in Tubingen today. Thanks to @likeyoda1.bsky.social for hosting and to all for the interesting discussions. I also took the obligatory bus stop photo.

Sure, I'll bite. My #MarchArches photo is double arch at Arches NP. Memorable for many reasons, among them Kid 1 puked under it.

Check out this XR-CT scan of a barley node from our collaboration with Riley Snyder and Lisa Marie Shillito. I get a little giddy with excitement when I see these.

Folks, it's postdoc appreciation week in the UK, and I'd like to say that I massively appreciate Agnieszka Gladala-Kostarz and Xing Wang who respectively set up barley transformation from scratch, and brought biochemistry to a genetics lab. What legends!

Keep trying to convince myself that there are still a few more weeks of summer. Colour on the birch leaves says otherwise 🙁
