The problem with Green Arrow is that readers just don't get him. You have shown as did Mike Grell on his run years ago that GA can be dark, gritty, topical and with the right artists, one of the best characters in comics but it is not to be. 😞

Somebody with the firing power must have seen the slumping sales but maybe wasn't a comics person so blamed creative rather than the editor. Maybe Julie blamed the writers and artists to management as well, pointed the finger at sales at others than himself.

Both creators are very good. Deserve the recognition they are getting now and will receive for future endeavours.

True. It would take a very dedicated fan to start reading Fantastic Four today and say that they need to go back to 1963 and read every issue so that they know the characters. Good writers can and do make comics great starting off points for readers.

I have the rest of your books on my shelf and just looked at the next one expecting to see Rebus...then I checked the one after that a bit more frantically....glad that Rebus made a comeback even if it did take 5 years. 😀

They both might be more corporate focussed but Marvel Comics The Untold Story by Sean Howe or Slugfest by Reed Tucker may be ok.
