Started writing this on the 31st of January but here we are on the 3rd of Feb. Much like January itself, writing this blog post seemed to take an age. But as is always the case, life gets in the way. I weighed myself on the 31st and was delighted to see that I’d headed under the 120kg mark, settling nicely at 119.2kg.

The idea of lumping this in with ‘New Year Resolutions’ feels like it devalues the whole complete lifestyle change of the weight loss, but at the same time it’s always tempting to have January the 1st as a starting point, certainly after the excesses of Christmas. I’d made a point not to go too crazy over the festive period, and I didn’t, but even a small amount of ‘crazy’ does not help with the expanding waistline.

First day of the new year, here we go… Weight - 128.8kg I’ve known I was hovering around this weight for a while now (which is just over 20 stone for those who hate kilograms!) - you simply can’t be that slack on diet and exercise without the consequences staring up at you from a set of scales. But at least with this in mind I have a set goal of losing a stone a month until June.

I may as well put some actual use into a blog I’ve resurrected but subsequently put to one side. It’s been an interesting year, on a personal level it’s been great - expecting twins in the early part of next year is both amazing and terrifying in equal measure! But the new arrivals have inevitably brought the focus back to my own health, which is not the best.
