Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

2000 years ago: the Romans would let an aqueduct destroy the Gardon Valley. We need clean water, but at what cost?

Before GenAi and Instagram, there was The Face Magazine. I recommend this NPG exhibition featuring influential photos, fashion, and design from creative Britain.

Just to say, if you're thinking about applying to the Writing MA, I'd recommend you do so sooner rather than later. I've just gone through all the applicants from Round 1 and we're making lots of offers — they were excellent — so we may well reach our target earlier than usual. Don't miss out!
Just a reminder: we've an Open Day in a couple of weeks so if you're thinking of applying, or just want to hear more about the Writing MA while hanging out with me for an hour, then please do come along

I left Twitter to avoid hearing about the worst of Musk and Trump, and now, day after day, they are both dominating the mainstream UK news agenda. Can't the BBC, ITV, and Sky do some real journalism?
