One might think that after Amnesty, B'Tselem, the UN and the International Association of Genocide Scholars have accused Israel of genocide, rabbis would feel some need to answer their arguments. Instead, they simply waive them away.

The US isn't giving Sudan+Syria weapons to commit those crimes. If Michael Oren is concerned about Sudan, he should urge Israel to impose sanctions on the UAE, which is arming genocidal militias there. But he couldn't care less about Sudan. It's a transparent effort to deflect criticism of Israel.

I disagree with much of what Senator Rand Paul believes. But he believes in something beyond his own ambition. And he's willing to risk something for his beliefs. Unlike most of his Republican colleagues, he's not a coward. He's a patriot.

"Seem" is generally a tipoff the author wants to believe something but won't do the work to find out if it's true. Mamdani constantly frames his criticism of Israel as part of his commitment to human rights everywhere.

Always remember this about politicians willing to spew anti-Muslim bigotry for political gain. When they decide it's in their political interest to spew antisemitism, they'll do that too.

Good for Van Jones for apologizing. Most public figures who dehumanize Palestinians never do. I hope he'll also rethink his claim that it's antisemitic to protest Israel if you don’t spend equal time on Sudan. Morally, it's entirely appropriate to give more attention to a genocide we arm and fund.

Actually @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social has a much better claim to represent Jewish New Yorkers than Jonathan Greenblatt. Several mayoral polls show that Mamdani enjoys majority-or at least plurality-support among New York Jews. The only Jews who voted for Greenblatt are the donors on the ADL board.

Loomer illustrates the absurdity of the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which includes comparing Israel's actions to the Nazis. But there's nothing about being Jewish that makes you immune from speaking-and even acting--like a Nazi. Recognizing that is part of recognizing Jews as fully human.

Don't fool yourself Megyn Kelly. You--and any right-wing talk show host--could be next if you step out of line. Trump already raided Bolton's house.

@khalilsayegh.bsky.social 's father died from lack of medical attention in December 2023 while taking shelter in a church in Gaza. If he can still retain his humanity--and insist upon the incalculable preciousness of all life--so can we

Jonathan Greenblatt is unaware of many things that happen to be true: For instance, that Israel denies millions of Palestinians basic human rights. His unawareness says nothing about reality. It says a lot about him.

Forgive me for being unsophisticated, but maybe leftists (and many non-leftists) simply don't like having their tax dollars used to starve and slaughter an entire population

The white-haired, bespectacled "pro-terror" professor on the left is Israeli-born Yinon Cohen, the Yosef Hayim Yerushalmi Professor of Israel and Jewish Studies at Columbia. You can't even make this stuff up.

So @columbiauniversity.bsky.social has just adopted the IHRA definition of antisemitism. How many of the Columbia faculty who teach classes on antisemitism do you think support this decision. My guess: Close to None.

A May poll found that Mamdani is running 2nd among Jewish voters, with 20%. Funny how non-Jewish politicians think that supporting Israel unconditionally gives them the right to determine who is an authentic Jew

This is exactly right. Across the West, powerful people in government and media have known for a long time that Israel is committing grave crimes. What's changed is that they're losing their fear of saying so.

Scroll through his tweets. You'd barely know a single child in Gaza has died.

Sorry but those talking points are out of date. The Israeli government has now said it wants the Trump plan--complete expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza. Get cracking on a "forced population movement is normal, even humane," tweet. Got to keep up with the times.

You're in luck, Sara. For decades now, people in Gaza have been saying they would like to move, voluntarily, to the places from which they--or their parents or grandparents--were expelled. I don't think they should be prevented from doing so either.

Trump just called for expelling Palestinians from Gaza. And the ADL doesn't explicitly condemn it, let alone call him a bigot. But if someone says "Palestine will be free from the river to the sea," the ADL calls them an antisemite.
