I’m someone that’s been watching with increasing alarm and frustration at the way the world is going. Interested in politics and economics.
I think its a bit more complex than that but certainly I think that beyond immigration they will find a reality that they did’t expect and also be unable to agree amongst themselves.

So equalising capital gains with income tax which would pay to lift the 3 child benefit cap 3 to 4 times over isn’t possible?

This is a policy choice that the gov is making.

Taxing the income from wealth to lift children out of poverty should be the bare minimum that we should expect from them

In fairness Denmark has had the Tories ripping apart their public services and social fabric. They do have high wealth inequality but a strong vibrant welfare state. The UK is in a different position.
That said this gov is a disaster.

Reeves husband is a senior civil servant. If I remember he was head of finance in the DWP. Surely he must have had at least an inkling of what a mess things were like.
