I took a class at Swarthmore called Pollination Biology. I cannot remember the professor's name, but I remember that she was an expert in a particular plant family (Ericaceae - azaleas etc), and I recognize this flower as a member of that family. So 2 of 3. Just taking stock.

Trump is horribly wrong, but that doesn't mean continued war is right.

Peacemaking is a nasty and dirty business. But it's better than war.

Russia is not winning, but Ukraine cannot hold on forever. A negotiated solution could thus be reasonable and responsible for Ukraine. The Europeans have set forth guidelines for one, including the eternal independence of Ukraine.

Paywalled. War isn't usually linear. The end can come with stunning speed when one side collapses. That recently happened in Syria; it happened before the fall of Saigon; and it famously happened in WW1, leading many of the defeated Germans to believe that their country was "stabbed in the back".

As much as I endorse Al's philosophy and his taste in pornography, I cannot endorse his suggestion that Trump move to Baltimore. That city has enough problems and did nothing that rises to the level of deserving Trump.

And Al was crystal clear about Donald Trump.

Al died in 2013, so he never knew that two of the objects of his ire, the American people and Trump, would form such a horrible partnership, and come to reinforce each other's worse traits.

Funny, but electric cars don't have transmissions.

Interesting that they are not targeting the visa classes favored by big businesses, like H-1B. Progressives should turn in Trump-related and other conservative-related businesses to ICE for employing suspected unauthorized workers. If ICE does not investigate, it's selective enforcement.

Interesting factoid from the article: specialized HS students are *less likely* to speak English at home than other students. So it's hard to say the existing English-only SHSAT discriminates against students from immigrant families.
