This isn't my idea -- I got it from the amazing book "Why Bad Presentations Happen to Good Causes" published by the Goodman Center. So many great, proven, pro-level presentation skillz in this free book! 🧵3/3 www.thegoodmancenter.com/resources/#r...
What’s really happening when working together face-to-face means screen-to-screen? Over 4,400 people at nonprofits and foundations, colleges and universities, and government agencies answered, and now you can read exactly what they said in our new report.

The "final thought" avoids the Q&A traps of a) no questions/crickets and b) the crackpot who gets up and makes a speech or challenges your basic points. This way, *you* decide how people feel about the talk. It also tells people you put thought into every aspect of your presentation. 🧵2/3

Here's what we taught at Spitfire Strategies: go to Q&A, but say "I have time for a couple of questions, and then I have one final thought for you." Save one slide (a summary, a new idea, synthesis, words of wisdom, etc) to tie it up with a bow. This lets you control what people remember. 🧵1/3
