A theologian writing on interfaith dialogue, the problem of evil, and literature and pop culture, I’m also a Mets fan, have 5 lovely children (some adults now!), and a decent mid-range jumper and heading prowess near the goal.
Join me this Thursday September 25th at 3 PM (Dublin time) as Edmund Kee-Fook Chia will speak on: "Interfaith Dialogue: Reflections from Asia.”

A series of thought-provoking essays: from cordyceps science to moral complexity, queer readings, and love in a broken world, it’s a fresh, smart companion to the series.

After I dropped the younger kids to school today, I sat on a bench and read a chapter of Blood Meridian. A high school friend of my daughter 's was walking to school and said: "I read that book." "For school?" I asked. "No, just on my own." My older son today also quoted Hamlet. What is going on?!

Stumbled on this mesmerizing collection of 3 short stories while browsing in Books Upstairs. Would have been great to read in Vilnius but worked in Dublin, too.

Post-mountain run slumber while I’m reading from a pile of books: What in Me is Dark; The Prelude; Day Zero; Cylons in America; With a Needle in the Heart; The Origins of Totalitarianism; Christianity in Comics….it goes on as my attention span is low, hence the pile of books

In my last "Mystery of God and the Problem of Evil" class this week, an undergrad came up and said: "I hope you didn't mind that I attended your classes. I wish I had been able to register for them but really enjoyed them!"--nice story to counter the common low class attendance groans since COVID.

It’s very rare that a blood-curling, unforgettable novel (The Road) has a scintillating graphic novel adaption (by Manu Larcenet) and very watchable film version. And if The Last of Us is quasi-Road like, it’s a 5th classic connection (game and tv version…genius inspires genius

My youngest daughter, who has a cold and loves school, said this just now: “I don’t want to stay home from school. Then I just stay in my bed and cry.” I told her that was the saddest thing I ever heard. The imp laughed. Get better, little Mary, your birthday is in a few days!
