The danger now we're down is that all progress has been lost, we can out together a L1 squad but if we do go up we would likely struggle in the champ.

The PL money should have bridged the revenue gap until we're in PC & cemented us as a top half champ team.

£6-8m less tv money oer season, ticket prices will need to drop, if we're poor then apathy will really set in & attendance will drop. It's a big financial hit that probably wasn't budgeted for.

A midtable or worse team in L1 would mean a half empty PC & lower matchday revenue than we have at KR now

There needs to be a long-term plan covering all aspects of the club, we need to be a bit more Brentford about our future. The board also need to step back from the day to day running of the playing & commercial side & let others carry it forward.

We used to be horrible to play against, it all got too nice, players too comfortable, haven't adjusted to being a parachute payment club, haven't recruited well since NJ (Barkley aside), some got too BBB & believed their own hype. Players & board.

I keep going out of a perverse sense of duty.

I'm ok with it, looks like a good fit to evolve the playing style, young and hungry. Seems a very Luton appointment to me.

The board need to back him in the window, RE had two very poor ones which haven't helped him along the way. Back MB and we'll see how he does.

The guy should never have to buy a beer in Bedfordshire, a real gentleman who also dealt with the human side with empathy and emotion. How it ended should not tarnish what he achieved and how he did it.

More eloquently put than I ever could. I hope he understands just what that playoff meant for generations of us at Wembley together, being able to share that day with my dad is the best football experience either of us could have dreamed of and that will last a lifetime.

When Thameslink cancel trains every weekend you can kayak up the Lea to the game 👍

We need to win the next 2-3 home games or we'll start to get cut adrift, it's a bit G.Jones era away from home.
We need experience & leadership brought in during the January window, probably a couple of loans. Between injuries & underperformance what we've got isn't going to see an upturn in form.

We have no leaders other than CM, Locks was a leader and organiser with the game in front of him. He's been hugely missed. The lack of spine of strong characters & leaders becomes really obvious when results & performances are poor.

Certainly when the players we've got, and seemingly recruited for, don't suit the formation and all our CB'S keep getting injured.
Hashioka has looked decent when in his proper position, still can't work out why Burke got shoved out to RB & now he's injured again.

Overrun in midfield again I expect, we've got no control in games at all.

Locks was the only leader and organiser on the back line, he's been hugely missed. We have no spine of leaders and it really shows, it's just weak and without any heart or pride.

I'm struggling to see a way that he turns it around, it's been really poor & it might be time for a change.
That said, he's a good man who clearly cares & got us to the PL. He should never have to buy a drink in Bedfordshire & deserves to be treated with respect.

There's a few that look like they've been in a K hole since August

I don't think the board will do anything rash, not do I think RE will walk away.
Hopefully the break has done him and the squad some good & go into the game on Saturday refreshed and get a win to build upon.
If we're stuck in the bottom 3 & performances don't improve there may be a decision to make.

That's an excellent find, thank you.
We moved from SE London to Hertfordshire in 1985, I probably would have been taken to games sooner but after the Millwall game my dad chose to wait a little longer.

I'm fairly sure it was a preseason friendly against Monterey, very little to be found online about that game. First league game was a 1-0 home defeat to Coventry in 1987.
