I get the absurdity of tracking a train in a tunnel from the air but it does highlight that the train tunnel extends well beyond the new stations. I have travelled Anzac to Malvern once but forgot to take note of exactly where the train emerges. Where is that exactly?

Whatever the merits or otherwise of stopping in the South Yarra/Hawksburn area, and this was covered widely in the media 10 or 15 years ago, it's been settled now. I'm sorry if you were expecting a station to materialise just now after the dust had settled, that train has left the station.

I don't know, but I think heavier vehicles could be a major factor. I also note that many interest groups are more interested in using this as a way of scoring points against a Labor government than in actually finding the cause of the problem.

After ANZAC station, the next stop out is Malvern? If I've got this right, the train returns to surface level and follows existing track and runs express to Malvern? The station skipping is built into the timetable?

I posted about this in a couple of other places and got zero reaction. It's odd because most services are going digital, but residential white page listings are now only accessible by calling directory assistance or using the printed book, web access has been removed.

As a tunnel 'tourist', I want to try it on day one. Do I really need to travel end to end to experience it? Where could I jump on and off to get the essential effect?

I wasn't aware that there were people making such claims, but then again anything goes on social media. I'm old enough to remember the outward opening swing doors on some of the 'red rattlers', the doors were frequently left open in hot weather, which used to fascinate me as a child.
