Anyone familiar with studies on potential for load shifting heat pumps? Mostly thinking in a future winter peaking system. I know it’s not an ideal load to shift, but there’s still likely some potential: pre-heating, allowable temperature droop, thermal storage, ground loops, etc. thx!

Massachusetts is trying to figure out the best structure for delivering decarbonization policy to consumers for the next 25 years. Is it through utilities? Or should the state take the lead? Any thoughts? Want to learn more about options? Share your expert views? www.mass.gov/info-details...

Building decarbonization thoughts from -10F in metro Boston:
#1: we’re 30% below design temp (~10F) plus 20-30 mph winds. That’s probably 50% higher heat load. My heat pump home dipped 4F below set point overnight. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Twitter no longer feels like a primarily user driven platform. It’s value and independence is already diminished, which sucks for all of us. It feels manipulated into some lame ego trip

How best to finance a million electrofits? A THREAD
By 2030, Massachusetts is aiming to electrify ~1 million of its buildings, moving from leaky, fossil fuel burning to being 2050-ready. That’s 8 years from now 😬

Big news! @MassSave now offering $500 rebate for induction stoves. Save energy, carbon, and your health, all while boiling water in like 1 minute. #cleancooking #electrification #energytwitter

How can MA homes transition from where we are today (inefficient and burning fossil fuels) to where we need to be in 2050 (efficient and electrified)? @MassCEC’s Decarbonization Pathways Pilot (https://www.masscec.com/program/decarbonization-pathways-pilot) plot the course. A short 🧵:
