Turns out that if you don't leave food on your plate, there's not much to get stuck in the filter. I wipe off sauce/fat residue with my napkin, which is often just a piece of kitchen roll. No paper that I haven't already used, no pre-rinsing. I barely need to clean the filter at all.

I became a dishwasher owner seven years ago, with almost no prior experience. I must've used it for at least four years before it occurred to me that the filter might need cleaning. I dreaded what I would find in there.
It was pretty much nothing. Like a very thin layer of wet dust.

After all these years of dishwasher videos, casually mentioning that American dishwashers have spinny knives in them feels kind of like "Oh, by the way, Snape was a centaur. It was never mentioned in the books because it wasn't relevant to the story." except it's actually real. 😵

Happy (belated?) birthday! This is more of an opinion, but: secundal harmony becomes a lot more interesting if you include augmented seconds and largely ignore the minor seconds.

When I first started using powder (after going through my big bag of Finish tablets), I just took an unmarked scoop (since determined to hold about 1.5 tablespoons), filled the detergent dispenser up to the lowest marking, and put the remainder on the inside of the door. Lowest marking was enough!

I fundamentally don't understand the mindset of people who ask questions online without first using a search engine. Not because I don't want to be a bother, but because finding answers on my own will almost always involve fewer steps and give equal or better results.
