Blick über vertrocknete Nadelwälder an den Hängen der Brocken im Harz. Ein trocknere Baum ist rechts im Vordergrund zu sehen. Nur wenige Bäume haben im Areal dahinter die Trockenheit überlebt und sind noch grün, während die meiste Bäume tote Gerippe sind.

I did a classic 5*5 mins. Zone 5 on @zwiftrides.bsky.social yesterday. Managed to hold 340 Watts average for the first 3 of the 5 intervals. 340 Watt was also my best 5 min. power for the last 90 days. Pretty happy with the progress so far.

#bikesky500 Reached the 500k mark today with another ride on @gozwift.bsky.social Did an 8*8 min. Interval custom workout. Started the first interval with 80% of FTP, increased power with every interval and finished with 108% of FTP in the last interval. /3 @zwiftrides.bsky.social
Timeline graph of my ride on Zwift today. Shows the course of power, heartrate and other metrics through the ride. It is clearly visible, where the portions with the higher power are located and the heart increased.

322 / 5.000 The graph shows the progression of speed, heart rate, power and cadence during my ride on Zwift, a platform for virtual cycling. You can see, among other things, that I significantly increased my power in the last third of the three-hour ride and then my heart rate also increased.

Das am 24.12. bei unserer Radtour aufgenommen Bild zeigt eine ruhige Nebenstraße in Nordhessen, auf der rechten Seite der Straße ist Wald zu sehen, auf der Linken Seite Wiesen sowie ein kleines Fachwerk-Türmchen, was früher Teile des Stromnetzes beherbergte und heute längst nicht mehr gebraucht wird, aber glücklicherweise restauriert wurde. Another Saturday on @gozwift.bsky.social with the BMTR Flat 100 Miles Group Ride. A lot of fun and little suffering in the end. Highly recommend the BMTR rides on Zwift, they are challenging and entertaining with a special emphasis on teamwork. @zwiftrides.bsky.social

Another one on @gozwift.bsky.social tonight. Climb Portal Gotthard Pass, a virtual 14 km-challenge and a lot of fun (I love climbing, virtual and IRL 😍) Quite happy with the performance.
The images shows the final screen of the virtual Gotthard Pass ascent on Zwift, an app for virtual cycling. It shows my avatar and some stats of the ascent: distance 14.4 km, 909 m of climbing, elapsed time 47:45 min., average power 285 Watts.

Tuesday night: #Zwift Racing League ZRL on @gozwift.bsky.social We are riding in Western Division 1 (B) this round. Not really successful to be honest. Came in #61 out of 68. Looking forward to relegated to B2 in next round. 🤣 @zwiftrides.bsky.social

Unfortunately, that's only half the story. Not only does the US have the most expensive healthcare systems in the world, that ruins people economically. Despite rising costs, life expectancy has stagnated, even declined in 2021 (mainly due to covid I guess). (Credits in the Diagram!)

Each line in the diagram shows the development of life expectancy and per capita health expenditure for the last decades up to 2021. This makes it possible to compare the development of different countries. It can be seen that in most countries life expectancy and per capita health expenditure have increased and the increase in life expectancy has slowed down in recent decades. In the USA, however, it has been stagnating for some time and has even declined at times, even though health expenditure in the USA has increased far more than in other countries.
