Whatever, he's played 3B/1B/DH this spring. That's what he'll do this year in Norfolk and Baltimore. His opportunities in Baltimore will depend on who else is available when he's there. I'd expect him to play more 1B in ST as he has had already had more 3B reps in his career.

They want him to be ready for 3B and 1B this year. He’ll get reps at both and try to be ready for both depending on what’s needed. The Os don’t eliminate options unless they are forced to and Mayo hasn’t shown he is unplayable at 3B. One ST game doesn’t reinforce any narratives.

I’m sure the Os have a plan for Mayo and where they want him getting work this spring. Gunnar and Westy short term injuries early in camp shouldn’t change that.

FO thinks Sanchez is better offensively (which he is and should be). McCann was also reportedly looking for a multi year deal at least earlier in the offseason. Not going to block Sammy B by doing that.

I respect them asking for Westy, Mayo, and Sammy; but no way should the Os deal one of those for a 1 year rental who will be going to FA next year with Boras representing.

Perez, Akin, and Saurez are solid middle options and should be able to keep us in games for comebacks when a starter doesn’t have it.

Daz Cameron also. Unless Mateo isn’t ready or there is another injury, can’t imagine those four make it out of ST if they even make it that far.

I think it would be more likely too. We could send them Kremer with some combination of Mounty, OHearn, Mullins to help immediately and give them a high upside prospect or two. I wouldn’t give up the farm for another 1 year rental but it makes sense for both sides.

Guess that means it was leaked by Kittredge’s camp or another team maybe trying to sign him…. Nothing seems to come out of the Elias FO.

I actually take the flip that they several good options, nothing to be disappointed about. Will be interesting to see what else they do as it doesn’t seem they are done yet.
