Stonestown and Serramonte both felt like they were heading down this same path not too terribly long ago. Amazing how both of those reinvented themselves (as opposed to San Francisco Centre).

Didn’t read the name of the subreddit before reading the first couple of paragraphs and I kept wondering what was so crankish about what seemed a fairly innocent (if slightly idiosyncratic) and thoughtful proposal and then suddenly: OHHHHHHHH. Yeah, we’re fucked.

“God…I just want to say we love you, God” was also pretty bonkers. (Though I suspect that one was just a lost train of thought.)

Ayasofya and Blue Mosque both can’t miss but less visited and right next to both is the absolutely breathtaking Basilica Cistern. Just a magical and surreal place.

If you haven’t had it before, some places make delicious fried cheese for breakfast. A fun spot for breakfast on the water is Lokma.

Can’t stop watching this. Having seen those kinds of displacement photos on old California history sites, it’s wild getting to see one actually happening!

I think I was an F too until @starwarsminute.bsky.social made the first part sound like “nine!” As a kid I think it was Nee-yen for us.

As an experiment, I have half-heartedly tried not to watch TV or movies with violence this past year and it’s absolutely wild how much entertainment is rooted in violence. Romcoms, sitcoms, children’s shows, doesn’t matter. If it has a plot, there’s a pretty good chance it also has guns.

Thanks, Andrew! Hopefully you still feel that way after you hear it!

Sadly back in the States now but had a wonderful time in London! Didn’t have time to venture outside of the city though.
