Exactly this. The failure to realise that America’s global preeminence was as a direct result it allowing the rest of the world to rely on it. Now the West cannot rely on the US, it won’t, and as a result will become independently stronger. I’m afraid this is the end of the US as we have known it.

Notwithstanding the oppositional approach taken by the author, I would pay good money to see collaborations by some of that lot.
