It just needs to hurt all those who are guilty, regardless of political affiliation.

That's kinda how justice works.

Nonetheless, see above.

... very rapidly reversed on that. Nonetheless, that'll be the story you now show me to prove me wrong even though it was the best part of a decade ago, didn't last a day, and he's made clear his support for the Scots having their say in 2025.

Corbyn's on your side. He's already said - multiple times - he would support a referendum, and that's what you want from WM.

That's been his position for years. The only time he slipped was when he said he wouldn't allow it in the first term of a Labour government under his leadership, but he...

... the football comparison still holds. 'I don't care if they drop down to the fourth division, I'll still be shouting for 'em on the terraces like me pappy and me grandpappy before him.'

Call me weird, but I vote for whoever I think will run this country best.

You do realise Labour's not a football team, right? I get this tribal loyalty thang in football, but I'm blowed if I can get my head around it in politics.

It's also a bit weird you saying you don't care if Labour loses support. Getting as much support as possible is kinda their job. But I guess...

Oh bless them, they've got to find something. Leave them alone, they're failing and it's fun watching them try.

It was painful in the Corbyn years, but Polanski just bats them away.

The government of the USA wasn't socialist in 1950. It may have been social democratic, I don't know enough about American history and that could well have passed me by.

But had it been socialist, we'd all know about it.

A certain Mr Zack Polanski liked the above, so I guess I'm right. It's a non-story.

Our best hope is that Trump's stupidity in offering Putin this Ukrainian Capitulation Plan is that Putin is even more stupid and doesn't take it.

You could bare @zackpolanski.bsky.social Polanski, but only if he gave you permission to do so, otherwise it's assault.
November 22, 2025 at 6:19 PM
So your ideal Saturday afternoon would be spent with a rose-scented @zackpolanski.bsky.social Zack Polanski with a garlic press wiggling his hips in the bath while reading to you from the collected poems of ee cummings, (and a Mills and Boon for later)?
November 22, 2025 at 6:10 PM
True. Or Polanski would have to pledge himself to maintaining the staffing levels of the NYPD and the closure of Riker's Island. But he's said nothing about it.
November 22, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Sounds overblown. Asked if he would accept defections, he said sure. (What else would he say?) Asked if Sultana would be a fit, he said why not? (Again, what else would he say?) That has now become an 'invitation' though the article makes clear that Polanski hasn't discussed any such thing with her.

Europe is already looking to its own defence with a decreasing reliance on NATO, with its American dominance.

It may already be too late.

The thing about defence is that it requires reliable partners, not a partner whose dependability wavers.

Thank heavens. It sounds like the stupidity of the capitulation plan is sinking in on him.
November 22, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Ah.

Okay.

Not sure how the wealthy rose up to institute social democracy but as I say, my understanding of American politics - and, it appears, its logic - is minimal.

Not really a reason given, just references to 'an incident'.

This is getting very cyclic. 🤭

No, social democracy was the compromise reached for fear of outright socialism.

Yes, but they still got spooked at the idea of the masses rising up.
