I agreed to help cook for one of our visiting lecturers, so I did a huge bowl of dhal. I sat at the back of the lecture and drew everyone who came. The lecture was by samiahenni.com who was a great speaker, taking about nuclear testing and its effects (spoilers: effects not good)

The “watercolour” notebook is very frustrating, as although it says it’s a watercolour notebook it is just very thin paper with a slightly textured surface. So it’s really for tinted drawings. But why?

I’m preparing for a summer of watercolour painting, which means some practice runs in a notebook. I often feel pretty shitty about these when I do them, and then better when I come back to them a week later

Somebody asked for the apple cake recipe and I ended up drawing it out, which is a sort of messy thinking process that I enjoy. Not sure if you can make an apple pie from this, but it’s close

Today we had a class on the roof, where I ended up fucking off my professor (he’s the co-head of department and therefore a prof) by saying that philosophy has too much talking and that the pie I made was real. I also spent two hours making a huge pie.

It’s mostly unbearable grim in the Austrian winter, but the pigeons were sheltering in the trees in Schillerplatz

I picked up the most awful flu in wales, while I was visiting my friends. Their cat tried to help, but I am still sick much later - party because I had two travel days and party because it was a strong sickness

Sketches from the airport today. Flew back whilst tired and ill, having caught the worst flu in wales - some sort of local emergency, closing hospitals etc. Hardly any drawing over the break, but at one point I did sleep for 36 hours straight.
