The yellow paperback edition of Unlocked is out today! It’s been a whirlwind of a first year, but I’m so glad that it’s out there. If you’ve read it, I hope you’ve found something reassuring and useful in it.

The yellow edition of Unlocked comes out on Thursday - if you can’t wait, you can grab it on Kindle for 99p at the moment. Cheaper than a coffee and much more satisfying: www.amazon.co.uk/Unlocked-Sci...

I’ve been moved to a new room, and there are multiple cameras which is slightly unnerving 👀

It’s been a pretty wild 48hrs, from relatively standard back pain, to a trip to A&E for a medical emergency and, today, neurosurgery. But today I got to meet this fella, and he totally made my day:

Not that well known, but I’m a massive wrestling fan, and love LA Knight. Love him even more now. He cut this promo last night, and boy do we need more guys with platforms saying stuff like this. It’s okay to cry.

Genuinely think this is the swankiest-looking thing I’ve ever been posted 😃

I’m sure this will be totally uncontroversial and everyone will be in polite agreement 😅

I think it’s pretty outrageous that (a) this study was press released, and (b) it was picked up by a news outlet. This is an unpublished, non-peer-reviewed conference abstract about a rat study. It has absolutely nothing to say about screen time for kids. We need to do better.

I see the Australian social media ban proposals are going exactly as expected.

UK folks: Monday’s edition of BBC Panorama is on the fractious debate about smartphones and mental health. Having spoken extensively to the producers over the past few months, I’m really hopeful that it’s going to be measured, evidence-based and sensible. Also I’m in it!

Been working on a thing this past week. This morning I’ve posted a copy of my book, and a letter, to a core group of MPs and Peers in DCMS, DSIT and DfE, to call for an evidence-based national digital literacy initiative.

Last week I published my second book. It's called Unlocked: The real science of screen time (and how to spend it better), and does exactly what it says on the tin. If you want to cut through the hype and scaremongering, this might be for you: linktr.ee/unlockedbook

My new book, UNLOCKED: The real science of screen time (and how to spend it better) was published this week! New Scientist has called it “weighty, chummy, quirky and charming” and “a realistic tonic to the doom and gloom”. You can get it here: linktr.ee/unlockedbook

Just over three weeks until Unlocked is published. If a book about screen time is up your street - what it is, why we're in a mess over it, and how to fix that mess - then I'd be genuinely grateful for a preorder. Links here: geni.us/VLRcYPN
