I think it's more a case of increased competition. Kids are pretty ruthlesss these days and the old days of "i won't directly copy you" are long gone

but yeah, interesting that you think differently. I luckily have a lawyer in the family, hahaha

Good point! Young people are on tiktok or youtube
November 13, 2025 at 3:23 PM
yeah, that's interesting - I find it kinda weird some big podcasters actually hate doing podcasts - like, why are you doing one then?

btw I just saw you did an episode on ICPs so I'll check that out

Really good point! Yes, the community has defo fragmented

I was just passing through but yeah, i'll let you know if I start doing meetups again

Are you more free on weekday evenings ? I'm guessing people with kids can't do weekends so much

Nice 😀 Will have to catch up sometime soon
November 13, 2025 at 11:55 AM
nice! Glad that was helpful

Btw, I was in a rush but I think I saw you in porty a few days ago - are you out that way these days?
November 13, 2025 at 11:44 AM
true! I've not heard of either of these so I think another problem is marketing podcasts
November 13, 2025 at 11:07 AM
yeah, something like nocsdegree dot carrd dot co

Carrd is excellent option if you just need a one pager site for whatever reason
carrd.co
November 13, 2025 at 11:02 AM
I have sort of accidentally, yes - I have had a carrd site for handling nocsdegree ads in the past because carrd comes with a stripe form

I also sometimes put my High Signal newsletter on Kit so sponsors can see an example so that's how i found out about this backlink opp

true - but lots of other niches have podcasts that last and last

maybe it's signal bias but I've honestly seen lots of bootstrappers stop podcasting in the past year

But maybe it happens in other genres of podcasting too...
November 13, 2025 at 10:31 AM
yeah, either of these make sense

Also, we are out of the whole "covid, everyone is at home" stage of history
November 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Oh yeah , I get you. Running a newsletter is so much easier and quicker
November 13, 2025 at 9:47 AM
I don’t think that’s it

Maybe just people find it’s not worth it
November 13, 2025 at 9:46 AM
Defo! Had a ball

Let’s lock in December
