The Brexit debacle, dishonesty trumpeted by Johnson, Farage and Murdoch and Rothermere’s malevolent media conned the UK into decades of chaos and decline. Putin’s Russia, playing their part and rubbing their hands in glee at the results. It is incredibly serious that lying has become normalised.

I’m relieved that they are bickering, back biting and causing grief for their own party, whatever it’s called, rather than hindering an already struggling Labour Party which doesn’t need any more insiders attempting to shoot it in the foot.

Where are the members of the Republican Party who have a modicum of decency and common sense? Every day brings more embarrassment and humiliation to the office of POTUS. They will all eventually have to answer for the damage Trump has caused.

That’s why Trump is so vehemently in support of Bolsonaro. Lula is by no means perfect, but a left leaning government in an influential country does not compute with money grabbing authoritarians. Trump will attempt to spread disinformation and bully Brazil into change.
