And if they’re still struggling, they should naturally level out around 13 or 14,

Yeah, i got diagnosed at 15 and my doc used the same analogy basically- it’s a tool, but you have to keep building the toolbox.

Now, nearly twenty years later, i come across as very Type A to new people & coworkers because i’ve spent time on it.

I was diagnosed at 15, got on medication then. It helped a lot with performing for societal expectations (better grades, better impulse control), but only through continual self-improvement and self-understanding did i actually get a grip on it. That just takes time, and an 8 year hasn’t had time.

There is a huge gulf between deeply unpleasant stuff like battlefield earth, which is so ugly it requires a specific mindset to digest, and Junior, which is a handsomely mounted, committed comedy that also happens to be so bizarre. You can’t look away from Junior, as miscalculated as it is.

I had never seen Them! until a couple weeks ago and was thinking “who is this absolute charm machine as the cop in this” and yeah, it was Brooks

The real luxury is subtler: getting to go to the bathroom without bothering anyone, and not having to get up for someone else’s bathroom business

It’s possible i’ve seen that movie more times than any other (barring stuff from my childhood)

When Stephen Norrington was pitching his vision, getting himself and others hyped, i imagine he was going “and then the blood sprinklers come on!” not “and at this point we must dwell on the daywalker’s origins and set up two more films”
