The vinyl itself, it made of cardboard and houses the true format - a CD.
Its chosen appearance of a vinyl record is to give off a more retro feel as the game’s story is set 1964.
The letters on the front cover (ТРИ) translates to ‘tri’, which is Russian for three. 3/3

Due to the FOXHOUND dog tag being numbered differently to the one from the original release, many believed that 5000 of these were handed out.

Due to distribution problems, the European release of MGS2 was severely delayed until early 2002. As an apology for the delay, Konami added a new difficulty exclusive to the European version and the Making Of DVD (which was originally a Japanese preorder bonus) bundled inside all copies of the game.

However, pre-purchasing video games wasn’t as big and important back then as it is today so many of these memory cards were left over and ended up being sold separately or handed out with every purchase of the game.
