I have my doubts about Japan having none. Their system may be cheaper but it can still result in not being able to afford care.

I loved this game and still have the original disks. I recently bought the GoodOldGames version as I hadn't been able to get the original to run for years because of some really old software requirements. Not even in a VM with Win98.

I have always liked MiniDiscs. I have a portable Sony player/recorder and a deck. And thanks to Web MiniDisc Pro I can still record from my computer to my portable NetMD.

Only for certain items over a certain amount at certain places. Most purchases I have made in Japan never qualified for the tax free program.
You are also supposed to produce the items on demand when clearing immigration on your way out of the country. I never had to, but it would've been a pain.
