Hey Diedrich! Was watching the new King of the Hill season and -immediately- recognized your voice when it showed up. Always loved your body of work and only found out recently you were on bluesky. Wanted to say hi & wish you well from a fan of your work =)

I'm with you! Seeing Golden Demon winners has never inspired me.. that's the best painters with the best tools working to win a thing with big splashy models. Cool; not inspiring.

However, regular folks using regular tools to do all sorts of cool things with models of all shapes & sizes? Love it!

Looking really nice so far! When I have a lot of black to do, sometimes I mix with non-black colors like browns/blues/purples and use deep black shadows to give the illusion of all-black clothing. If the highlights are cool/neutral, it tends to read as black. Best of luck~

Nicely done Viet - the eyes look really nice!

It's adorable, and you bet! It's always cool to see how we progress. I spent some time organizing painted minis this weekend and it's always interesting to see ones I'm still proud of vice the ones I'd massively change if I were doing now X)

Both fantastic, but I love the extra contrast of the night sky on the right one~

Looking really nice! Don't know if you sing or dance but this is clearly good enough to make you a double-threat.

Looking so good! Keep it up Bren~

They're -so- good. Desert Sand has become the default-prime color for basically everything I paint lately. You won't be disappointed!

Looks way better than "fine" to me, they're a great fit and the paint job is lovely!

99%+ of the painting we do wins no awards, but a nice looking model on the shelf/table is a reward in itself.

Thanks Bantrim! =)

Thank you so much! Definitely a lot of little corrections needed to get the face that way, but I'm happy with where I landed on it =)

Oh really good job with the shading effects, I know those models are super tiny. Well done!

For sure it's good news! It means the talent/artistry is progressing and you're finding your voice more. Old Shame's a very real thing, particularly in the era where we record/present everything:

I love the intensity of rough transitions like those! Painting straight to intense shadows and exaggerated highlights is what feels like it helped define my painting. Love the look here~

Adorable, well done!

Awesome, very clean work all around. Don't have this model myself; you did a great job with it~

Not cool man, we saw you in VA some years ago and all we got was a hilarious night of memorable stand-up comedy!

That and you gave us $50, but still!

Great work on all the details! Best of luck on the competition~
