Yesterday I was happy to see some of the Bethune St planters in flower.

Today we got to 98% on NYT connections.

Tomorrow is the big Moving Sale at 311 Pearl Ave.
Life is good!

Expropriation… so a few people will go from 3.2-4.4 parking spaces down to 2.2-3.4 spaces for their car. Car owners are so greedy.

Oak trees only get one parking space that they use for their full lifetime. Acorns, squirrel drays, raccoon hollows included for free.

Responsive service from @cityptbo.bsky.social. Last Thursday I reported an errant Parking sign on Bethune St between Hunter and Simcoe. Yesterday I noticed it had been removed.

You’re a project “making an opportunity for” community input. In #Ptbo, Cottage country. Your input window is 2 months in July/August. You told the Safe Streets for Everyone summit in April it was too early to design.

Tell me you don’t actually want input.

Locally #Ptbo we have a bike priority street: Bethune.

It includes vehicle turn arounds for cars that accidentally end up at a “no entry - bicycles excepted” intersections.

South of Charlotte St people are parking in the circle. Saw a car struggling Sunday. Today a ticket issued. Good!

Excited to see my new-to-me sailing dinghy show up in the updated Google maps imagery.

Spotted this “Anonymous Traffic Study Equipment” - movie camera on a pole on the south side of Parkhill looking north along the Rotary Greenway Trail that runs behind Sadleir House #Ptbo. Based on camera aim the study subjects are walkers and cyclists not cars.

My afternoon will include a family friendly party featuring a screening of The Sounds of Music set in 1938 Austria.

More than three weeks, an ice storm and flooding emergency later… Some of the snow and ice is still present (though not blocking flow). However now the intake is full of broken tree debris. Call the beavers 🦫 the dam is half made! #Ptbo #BethuneBypass

I wonder if 1950s style #walksafe messaging would have prevented this.

Thanks for another wonderful evening @dannymichelmusic.bsky.social

I laid out the @dannymichelmusic.bsky.social collection and I can see a couple of gaps but… that’s a lot of CDs

I was expecting some news like this to come out of Carney’s immediate PM visit to Europe.

USA has become untrustworthy. Responding accordingly. UK needs to undo their Brexit bumble.

What a difference 90 minutes makes. Also compare to 9:16am post earlier today. Once water starts flowing it creates a path.
March 17, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Monday morning. Maybe 24/7 Public Works will visit today but time has, to some degree, solved the problem. Water is still above the intake level and most of it is finding its way under the ice.

When that ice/wood debris jam came down the creek it must have been something to see!

Picked this up last night!

My 6th Silver Hearts CD

The Man Who Has No Country

It’s the 1,111th album in my music collection.

By 6:45pm there’s a lot more fresh ice deposited. Looks like material delivered by the flow. The water must have become quite high for this to have happened!
March 17, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Watch the leaf debris in the water by the snow/ice. You can see that even though water is above intake wall level it is blocked by an ice dam. The Bethune diversion is not working as designed because the intake was not cleared for spring runoff @cityptbo.bsky.social #Ptbo
March 16, 2025 at 8:04 PM
So… #Ptbo tore up Bethune St, built a diversion to protect downtown from Jackson Creek overflow for $$&, but apparently don’t have an operation plan regarding spring runoff intake.
