I heard and saw one for the first time a few weeks ago when I was wandering along the riverbank in the city centre for a few minutes of peace before I got the bus home. Have heard and seen one a handful of times thereafter.
First time, I think, seeing a Brambling, though! And it was SO close!

First birds of my day: a squadron of 8 Magpie flying low down the street before settling on a rooftop and beginning to peck for treats in the gutter and among the mossy roof tiles. All while a Carrion Crow croaked its way south-east in the just-lightened-to-blue sky.
