If you understand this meme we should be friends 💖
My 6yo’s daydream ramblings this morning have included:

Someone cut the sun in half.

A bad baby inside a robot. The baby died.

Someone stole God.

I spent the morning at an ICE Detention Center and I don’t think I will ever be the same.

If you’d like to read it in full, I’ve put it in the comments below.

About 80% of my 6yo’s speech right now is just him verbalizing his Minecraft daydreams.

I’m also a daydreamer but I don’t think I ever spoke them out loud as a child like he does.

I love that for him. Be loud and proud my little weirdo.

My 6yo has been screaming about needing a village for the past half hour and I’m realizing being a Mom to a Minecraft Autistic is going to require me to actually learn this game

When you’re autistic and on the brink of burnout, there’s nothing like the holidays to push you right over the edge

I was listening to an interview with an author and thinking oh this guy is definitely autistic

Looked up his socials and he describes himself as having “severe ADHD”

Everybody complaining about immigrants committing crimes, meanwhile my one of my immigrant ancestors literally wiped out an entire Native American tribe
December 9, 2025 at 5:41 PM
Many of my ancestors came here 300 years ago or more, and my family has still not assimilated.

I don’t know a single one of us who speaks any Native American language.

My great grandpa’s half brother went to school for one day as a child, and never went back because he couldn’t speak English.

Both of his parents were born here.

His mom’s parents were also born here.

Not everyone assimilates quickly and that’s honestly fine.

People look at my parenting and think I’m some free spirit who doesn’t believe in structure or standards, but actually I’m a recovering sanctimommy.

When you have autistic, chronically ill kids, you either become more flexible or you die.

I recently found out my 7x great grandfather was excommunicated from an Anabaptist group for being a universalist . Not even sure if I’m universalist myself, but I love that for him

You know how when you ask a kid how old their parents are, they usually give some absurdly high number?

My 6yo said I was zero.

Not sure how to feel about that….

A positive side of being autistic/ oblivious to social cues is that I don’t always notice when someone is being rude to me.

Instead I just assume it’s my own fault that the conversation isn’t going well and the other person is just treating me how I deserve.

I recently got Peter Enns’s Telling God’s Story to use with my kids.

Today I accidentally left it out while my (SBC) parents were over, but I wasn’t sure if they saw it or not.

Tonight my mom sent me a link to Founders Ministries and offered to buy us any of their kids books.

“Until we recognize the material effects of what we think and the systems that we participate in, we won’t be able to robustly love our neighbors.”

-Malcolm Foley, The Anti-Greed Gospel

This means that when we look at our cities and towns, often segregated racially and economically, we must not say, “That’s just the way things are. It can’t be changed.” Instead, we have to say, “We made it this way. We can make it something else.”
