I had coffee in St James’s Park this morning with a Kyiv friend who was finally allowed to visit London. A conversation focused on democracy, liberty and resilience. On the way back, I stopped and wondered what this guy would think. V.

What happens next is unlikely to be pretty. Given the region's turbulent past marked by extreme brutality and ethnic cleansing, a significant migration of Karabakh Armenians to Armenia proper is anticipated. Russian Peacekeepers may oversee this movement.

Armenian channels hint at the #Artsakh government reaching out to Azerbaijan. With Azerbaijan's firm stance on unconditional surrender and the depleted state of the Artsakh Defence Army, the conflict may conclude before the weekend.

#Karabakh: The ground situation remains fluid, with Azeri forces advancing along the U-11 in northern Karabakh. Martakert is reportedly encircled. Stepanakert under fire (possibly directly from Susha, which is at an elevation above the breakaway capital).

Interesting interview with the Armenian PM. He's clearly trying to balance on the tightrope. That's going to be tough, and time is clearly not on his side.

Recent reports on trains suspected of carrying nuclear components to Belarus. The Community of Railway Workers of Belarus noted 5 trains (prob. 12 GUMO) between late August and early September. This suggests a continuing nuclear deployment in Belarus.
