Clearly, Crunchyroll/Sony are gaining something from making this process as opaque as possible and it's definitly not to improve the user experience. Inflating their user count? Faking user retention numbers?

If you are in a different location, their AI chatbot then connects you to a, allegedly human, support agent who informs you that it can only by done via their e-mail support in order to "protect my information"...

If you are in the UK, EU, US, or Brazil, their AI chatbot gives you links generic-looking "Sony Pictures" gdpr forms.

Their help page doesn't mention any method to do it from a web browser. They want to force you into re-installing their app help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/art...
