In year ten of building an addition on my house.
And the patty tallow absorbed instead of burned off before putting on a burger bun.

I agree. I also know that this was a preferred after-drinking meal for many. Rye is an interesting idea. We used Texas Toast when I worked at Sambo's slinging them.

Aha!

Grilled Cheese/Patty Melt/Cheeseburger.

But I really think the variable that sets it apart is that it soaks up the tallow. Burgers nor grilled cheese do that.

I can confirm this is true.

Correct, we made them with Texas Toast when I worked at Sambo's.

(Cue the voice of Lloyd Bentsen rebutting Dan Quayle)
I worked at Sambo's as a fry cook in TX in the 70's. I know how to make a patty melt. Probably slung a 100 on Friday and Saturday nights after the bars closed, while burgers were half that. A patty melt is not a burger.

Answer is A.

This is similar to what my dogs get as their staple diet. Hamburger, chicken livers, eggs, carrots, peas, squash, spinach, pan drippings from roasted chicken, rice. Served as a gruel with warm water (and sometimes milk) topped with a pork kibble and shredded chicken.

Finally.

Found a Carolina wren here yesterday doing ours. Little out of range but one was spotted in the area last February. Also, the storm we had just brought a bunch of southern birds our way. Purple gallinule in MA.

I share that frustration. While online retail has opened up access to more than what could be had locally, Amazon and that ilk have starved out of existence the local shops that just might have a bunch of things that were outside the flood of mass-manufactured crap that is online.

Wasn't clear about the 4x4 "actual" dimension. Not "willful", sometimes the obvious escapes me. OCD thing. Likely the easiest fix is to buy a nominal 4x4, cut off slices that match the depth required for the caps, then glue/screw those to the top of your posts, then these caps would work.

Anything worth doing should be done right.

Cheers.

This is dog protocol. I have five beagles. Two (Daisy and Lily) get on the bed when I do my 3AM bathroom break. Iris is allowed on the bed when I wake around five, then Jake shortly thereafter. Ellwood is not allowed on the bed. I don't make the rules, just observe. They enforce it.

You have my undying respect if you did it by hand with a knife.

It's not "character building" it is getting it right. I have a short, but dedicated list of fans who would fight each other for my kimchi or relish because it is hand-made and cannot be replicated with a food processor.
