How little of an amount of money are you talking? Is it something a small donor drive could help with or is it institutional sized funds you need?

Tightening up the defense even to the tune of 1 fewer brain fart goal seems like a reasonable hope. But yeah, I'm enjoying an attacking team compared to the past of a defense first mindset.
